"I had concerns about being in a built- up triple – I was really freaked out at first… when we first got here we were all hesitant at first –  no one wanted to make anyone else upset..  but we figured it out and it has been great.  Now we are all moving to a regular triple next year."
- Sarah, First Year Student

"We connected over email and facebook.  It really helped to help us figure out who was bringing what.  It made the first day much less awkward."
- Kim, First Year Student

"I loved move-in day!  It’s a really exciting day.  You are surrounded by  so many people who are strangers but you know they are soon going to be your family.  It’s a mixture of awkwardness, excitement and nervousness but in the end it ends up being a great memory."
- Steve, 2nd year RA

Preparing to Arrive on Campus

Picture of UNH StudentsGetting ready to come to college can feel really overwhelming. But now is the time to take a deep breath and relax. This section is filled with information and advice that should help this process go more smoothly. If you can't find the answer on any of these pages feel free to e-mail us and we will try to help you the best we can.

When you arrive at UNH, your room will have a twin bed, desk, desk chair, bureau, mirror, closet, a recycling bin and window shades. You will assume responsibility for this furniture, and it will be yours for the year. Everything else is up to you and your roommates. Check out the list of stuff you might want to bring and make sure you also look at the list of stuff not to bring. Remember that storage space is not available so everything you bring needs to fit into your room. We also have lots of information that will prepare you for opening day and the first week of school. Again, don't hesitate to ask us questions.

See you at the end of the summer!
