"It is a great feeling to have had a big effect on my residents.  I like that I can look back over the year and see how much they have grown since August and to know that I have played a big part of that."
- Marc, First Year RA

"Being an RA has been one of the best experiences I've had at college! You work hard, but you play just as much if not more. It is the most unique job I've ever had and I have been so grateful for this opportunity."
- Carrie,  Second Year RA

Undergraduate Assistant Hall Directors (UAHDs)

The UAHD job is a crucial part of our Residential Life system. UAHDs assist the Hall Director in each of our large halls with staff supervision and training as well as advising the hall council. This is a great opportunity for students who are looking into the Student Affairs field or just looking to increase their leadership skills.

Harrison Roakes - Stoke Hall

harrision roakesHi, my name is Harrison Roakes. I am a full-time senior environmental engineering student and right now I am really interested in process design, especially with water treatment. Outside of classes and Stoke, my favorite thing to do is get outside and be active. Camping, canoeing and sports are my favorites. Music is also a big part of my life, either listening to it or playing instruments. I like meeting new people so if you see me around make sure to introduce yourself.

Kim Mayo - Upper Quad Halls

kimmayoMy name is Kimberly Mayo and I am the Assistant Hall Director in the Upper Quad. I am a senior here at the University of New Hampshire and my major is in Social Work with a pre-Naturopathic Dr. Concentration. I am from Uxbridge, Ma, and I am the youngest of six children with two nieces. I absolutely love my family. I have a strong passion for helping people either as a support system, an ear, provision, or anything really. I enjoy hiking and the outdoors, writing songs and playing my guitar, reading and writing, and crafts of all sorts. However, this entire aside the most defining part of who I am is through my Faith and my relationship with Jesus. I have been a Christian now for about a year and a half, and without this part of my life, I would not be who I am today. Besides this there’s not much else to tell!

Dan Bishop - Williamson Hall

danbishopI am a senior Political Science major with a minor in Justice Studies. Prior to being the UAHD of Williamson, I was an RA for two years in the Upper Quad (Randall to be specific!). I am from Pelham, NH but was originally born in Bogota, Colombia. After UNH, I intend on going straight to law school (scary thought!). My major interests are sports and politics; both of which I love to discuss and be involved with!

Renee Poisson - Christensen Hall

renee poissonMy name is Renee Poisson and I’m the UAHD in Christensen Hall. Fun fact: this is my fourth year living in Christensen—first as a freshman, then two years as an RA, and now as the Assistant Hall Director. Not everyone can say they lived in a first-year hall throughout their entire undergraduate career, and I am awfully proud to be able to say that about myself. A few basic facts about me would include that I’m a senior English Literature major with minors in French, Writing, and Education and that I come from Laconia, New Hampshire, which is one of NH’s thirteen cities and is about an hour north of here. I have loved being a part of residential life here at UNH so much—it has given me the opportunity to learn and grow while also giving me the chance to contribute to the surrounding community
